Margaret Harris
Margaret Harris is Challis Professor of English Literature Emerita at The University of Sydney. Her publications on Australian literature include essays on Christina Stead as well as Patrick White. Her principal area of expertise is Victorian literature, especially George Eliot (The Journals of George Eliot, edited with Judith Johnston, 1998, and George Eliot in Context, 2013), and George Meredith (The Notebooks of George Meredith, edited with Gillian Beer, 1983), together with articles and editions of several of his novels.
