Review of Miles Franklin by Marjorie Barnard
Abstract
In an interesting and well-founded Foreword to this volume Professor A. R. Chisholm makes two points which would have to be made by any reviewer. First is that 'Miss Marjorie Barnard was eminently fitted to undertake' this study and second, 'the task of writing this story of Miles Franklin and her work was not an easy one'. Marjorie Barnard, a practised historian, novelist and critic, is fortunately able to bring to her task the methods of all three literary genres.
