Jindyworobaks and Aborigines

Abstract

Elliott examines the Jidyworobaks' appropriation of Aboriginal culture, particularly a 'religious', or 'metaphysical' connection to the land. He argues that 'spiritual bondage to the land was teh core of Jindyworobak motivation. But ... it was a spontaneous bondage in the first place, self-induced, and never dependent on the aboriginal precedent'.
