Gwen Harwood and the Professors
Abstract
Gwen Harwood is always having fun with the professors but the professors seem rather wary of her; at any rate they hardly ever write about her and say what fun to read Gwen Harwood. I expect they are rather frightened of her because, while the most important and most neglected aspect of her work is its pervading sense of fun, it is a disturbing, if not a terrifying fun and it is apt to be aimed at critics, professors, editors and the literary menagerie in general.
