D. H. Lawrence in Australia: Some Recently Published Letters
Abstract
The meagre information on D. H. Lawrence's stay in Australia in 1922 has been supplemented recently by the publication of a number of his letters from Australia that were not included in the collections edited by Aldous Huxley (London. Heinemann 1932) and Harry T. Moore (London: Heinemann. 1962. 2 vols.). The letters are scattered amongst a number of publications, some of them from relatively obscure small and private presses. Gathered together, they fill out our picture of his visit, and offer some further illumination on Kangaroo and The Boy in the Bush.
